Hi there. My name is Dominic Gill. I’ve been a client of Blackstone since November 2021, and my adviser is Anthony Ward.

We got in touch with Blackstone because I’d recently sold a business that I’d founded. It sold back in 2021, so we had quite a big amount of cash coming in and wanted to make sure that we were making sound investments for my and my family’s future.

The challenge we had when we were looking for financial advice and ultimately went with Blackstone for advice about was that we’d never had that amount of money before – something that was so hard-earned. We wanted to make sure that we were doing the right thing, making the right decisions, and ensuring that we were working with somebody who was going to help. We were also looking for somebody who had our best interests at heart, but fundamentally, it was a way in which we could maximise and grow the hard-earned cash that I’d won and earned from the business sale into something that was a big pot for the future.

We found out about Blackstone through word of mouth. Anthony, who’s our adviser, is a family friend, a personal friend. That’s not to say we just went with somebody who we knew; we did shop about and look to see if there were any better options out there, but the combination of using somebody who we trusted and that we knew was a sound person, and also the advice and the reputation of Blackstone, was why we chose them. How we found out about them in the first place was very much through word of mouth.

The best thing about working with Anthony and the team at Blackstone is that Anthony’s local; we know Anthony, and fundamentally, I’ve got somebody who I can trust to look after my money and invest the hard-earned cash that we got from business interests, and that gives us a lot of reassurance.

The three words that I’d use to describe Anthony are trustworthy, dependable, and very tall! That’s actually four words.

With the folks at Blackstone, I’ve got a plan for years in advance. The way in which Blackstone has managed the finances, put the plan together, and looked at risk has assured us that when we need to be drawing down money, we can, and it’s going to give us a great life when we’re older, both for my wife, my kids, and myself.

In the time that I’ve worked with Anthony, I think the best piece of financial and investment advice that he’s given me is to be patient and trust the investments and the plan that he’s put in place with me. Looking at your investments every five minutes, seeing how they’re growing, worrying that they’re not, I think you could go mad doing that; you’ve really got to just trust in the process, trust in your adviser, trust in the plan, and the rewards will come.

I’d definitely recommend Anthony and Blackstone. I think they’ve been super approachable and great in the way that they’ve dealt with us; they’ve responded to any questions that we’ve had, and ultimately, the proof is in the pudding. Although we’ve only been working with them since 2021, we’ve got a long-term plan in place, and our money is absolutely growing on plan, so I’d definitely recommend them.
